The Norwalk River runs through some of the most highly urbanized land in the U.S., yet, thanks to the hard work of those who care about this river– especially the Mianus Chapter of Trout Unlimited –it has a very good population of wild and holdover brown trout.
Access to the river is not an issue, as it runs along Rte. 7. A 7.5′ 3-4 weight fly rod and a good assortment of caddisfly imitations (such as Jeff’s Killer Caddis) are recommended.
Trout Unlimited is America’s leading coldwater conservation organization. Our hope is that clean, cold, fishable water exists for generations to come, but we can’t do it without the support of committed anglers and conservationists like you.
Helps support Nutmeg Trout’s conservation and educational efforts. See our donation page for details on how you can help.
